About the Workshop

The word cowgirl brings to mind a corral full of images – a spunky gal riding herd, roping, branding, fencing and wrangling everything from ranch hands, newborn calves and horses to her own kids, and at times - neighbors, friends and relatives. At MontanaQuest, you can gain their grit and more…

These amazing women were independent, strong, intuitive and wholehearted – and much like these icons of the American West, women of the 21st Century manage increasingly complex personal lives, jobs and careers, family and community every single day… and there is an increasing body of research showing rising levels of stress, anxiety, compromised health issues and even suicidality emerging in our evermore complicated lives. Global issues are becoming local concerns, and our electronic devices place even higher demand on our time and attention through texting, tweets and social outlets like facebook. Women in contemporary society rarely have enough time, energy and focus to manage it all…

In this MontanaQuest Personal sustainability workshop you'll achieve those same skills that sustained your pioneering ancestors – not only did their skills make them fully sustainable, these important skills allowed them to thrive - they lived wholeheartedly, experiencing life to the fullest, as they overcame daily challenges, accomplished difficult physical tasks, loved and cared for their families, friends and neighbors - and followed their passions! Living in pastoral settings, the necessary and complex mix of skills used for farming, ranching, thrifty and wise money management, socializing, politicking, spiritualizing, homemaking and mothering skills were all required for pioneering cowgirls. Strong, tireless, dependable and multi-talented, they were models of personal sustainability – they had to stay healthy - physically, emotionally and spiritually, while remaining mentally astute, culturally aware and connected with partners, farm and ranch hands, neighbors and their spiritual community for support and survival in order to manage and balance those full lives and relationships as they tamed and settled the West! They were intimately connected to the land and nature – their relationship and understanding of their environment was as integral and essential as all other relationships, they knew a healthy, nurtured environment provided the literal and metaphorical ground for the rest of their lives…

In Cowgirl Wisdom - Personal Sustainability for the 21st Century you'll:

  • access your innate social and emotional intelligence
  • gain the power of non-verbal communication and body language
  • learn to use Emotions as information
  • discover the importance of connection and boundaries
  • find sustainable community and team-building skills
  • empower your authentic self
  • build your 7 personal sustainability superpowers through horse-guided experiential learning

You will learn to use these tools to create the sustainable Cowgirl life you want - independent, strong, intuitive, whole-hearted, healthy, passionate and more...
