About the Workshop

“What might we all accomplish if we finally understood how to be powerful, together? Significant social change is not going to occur until sensitive, caring people become empowered rather than overwhelmed. We need thoughtful, compassionate individuals to enter situations where suffering and conflict proliferate, and show a different form of strength, one that holds people accountable without becoming abusive. Otherwise we will continue to see frustrated, disillusioned teenagers acting out violently, bullies stirring up fear to gain control, and sociopaths callously thriving at others’ expense.” Linda Kohanov, Author and founder Eponaquest Worldwide

Learn new ways to transform interpersonal conflict, power struggles, bullying and other challenges at home, school, work, political, religious or social activism contexts into thoughtful supportive “emotional heroism” based on the ancient wisdom of pastoral cultures and the empowering leadership skills practiced in non-predatory herds.

No horse experience is necessary. Participants will learn through our non-riding, activities with gentler horses to access innate abilities for self-empowerment and how to successfully embody personal and professional goals. Our magnificent Sanctuary horses will act as guides, models and inspiration throughout your workshop experience. You’ll learn how these principles can be translated to human situations with finesse and empathy backed by non-predatory power. This workshop is for leaders, teachers, parents, counselors, health care workers, clergy, social activists, first-responders, law enforcement personnel, and people who live or work with those who act out in aggressive or fearful ways at times. The progressive skill development orientation of our workshop make it appropriate for participants who have no previous horse experience, as well as riders and trainers who would like to learn new approaches to working with highly sensitive or formerly abused horses of all ages.
